The RDocs™ service converts any document or presentation into an RPD™ (Rights Protected Document™) file type that can be opened in any browser, and in any device.
This article covers the following topics:
Generating an RPD
Follow these steps to create an RPD™:
1. In the Generate tab, go to the Upload files section. Press Click to Select Files and browse through your folders to locate the file you want to convert into an RPD™.
Alternatively, you may drag and drop the file into that section.
When adding multiple files, you have the option to send them either as two separate RPDs or as a single combined RPD. If you choose to send them as one RPD, you will be prompted to name the RPD containing both documents. Note: If you choose to send them separately, it will be processed as two distinct transactions. Consequently, in the Manage tab, you will be able to handle them as two separate RPDs.
2. In the Access Control panel choose the security level you want to apply to the RPD™. To do so, click on Protect Views, Control Readers, or Restrict Readers. according to your requirements.
3. In the Real-Time Interactivity, Location Protection, and Content Protection panels, customize the features you would like to apply to the RPD™ according to your preferences.
To learn more about the security levels and available features, please refer to the article Send and Generate tabs.
4. Enter a description.
Note: If the chosen security level is Restrict Readers, you must enter the emails of the authorized readers.
Once the email is entered, you can double-click it to add more details about the authorized reader, select the preferred verification code delivery method, and include a Reference.
- The delivery methods available for the verification code are based on the methods enabled in the Send Verification Code section of the Real-time Interactivity panel.
- The Reference helps identify and organize readers more easily by allowing the sender to add a short internal note next to each email. It’s especially useful when managing long recipient lists or when email addresses aren’t easily recognizable. This information is visible only to the sender.
When finished, click Save.
Another way to do this is by clicking on the Add details icon, which also allows you to add authorized readers directly within the same pop-up.
Note: Alternatively, you can enter the authorized readers in bulk by clicking on the Upload icon, downloading the corresponding file, completing the required information, and re-uploading the completed file.
5. Select the Reader Language according to your needs. RDocs emails and the viewer app will be displayed in the selected language for the reader.
6. Click on Generate.
You will now be able to download the document and share it however you please.
