The RMail Recommends feature automates RMail security and privacy features to insure compliance. Using predictive technologies at the point of sending, RMail Recommends helps customers by recommending or requiring RMail protections on an otherwise non-protected email.
This article covers the following topics:
How does RMail Recommends work
When the regular Send button is pressed and the RMail App detects certain criteria in one or more components of the message, the RMail Recommends pop-up will appear reminding the user to use the RMail service. The user can choose to send using the recommended RMail feature or send as a regular email.
When certain triggers are set to require a message to be sent through RMail, the RMail Recommends dialog box will not appear, and the email will be sent directly using the RMail service.
RMail Recommends settings
It is highly configurable to recommend or require an RMail feature based on conditions in the following areas of the message:
- Email subject contents.
- Email body contents.
- Attachment name contents.
- Attachment file type.
- Email header flag.
- Recipient email or domain.
- More.
Note: Certain triggers come pre-configured by default. To configure additional triggers for RMail Recommends, set up RMail Requires, or customize the Recommender (RMail) to carry the name of your choice (e.g., John Recommends), you must contact your RMail sales or customer success representative, as customers cannot perform these customizations on their own.
RMail recommendations may be temporarily or permanently disabled.
To customize the settings follow these steps:
1. Press File.
2. Click on RMail Settings.
3. In the pop-up panel click on RMail Recommends.
- By default, RMail Recommends is enabled for all four services.
- RMail Recommends is available in RMail for Outlook starting from version 11.
