RDocs has an out-of-the-box integration with SharePoint that covers the following:
- Protecting any file in a document library as a Rights Protected Document (RPD™) without downloading it first.
- Choosing how strictly the document is protected, who is allowed to read it, and for how long; all without leaving your library.
Opening the Send as RPD™ dialog
1. Go to a document library in SharePoint.
2. Select one or more files.
3. Select Send as RPD™ from the command bar (select the ... more commands icon first if it isn't shown directly).
4. The first time you use it, sign in with your RDocs credentials. You'll stay signed in for the rest of your browser session and can select Switch account to sign in as someone else.
Preparing your RPD
1. The Documents card lists every file you selected before opening the dialog.
2. Select the X next to a file to remove it if you selected the wrong one.
3. In the Readers card, type the email addresses of the people who should be able to read the document, separated by commas, semicolons, or new lines.
4. RDocs offers three access control levels for the document you're about to send:
| Level | What it means for your readers |
| Level 1 – Protect Views | Anyone with the link can open the document; no verification is required. |
| Level 2 – Control Readers (default) | Each reader must verify their email address with a one-time access code before the document opens. |
| Level 3 – Restrict Readers | Only the recipients listed in the Readers card can ever open the document, even if someone forwards it. At least one recipient is required. |
Delivery options
- Expiration date: pick a date from the calendar picker; it can't be set in the past.
- Regions: choose which regions are allowed to receive the RPD™.
- Domains and a voting option, available once you choose Level 2 or Level 3.
- An option to notify recipients by email, with a customizable subject and message.
- When more than one file is selected, an option to generate a separate RPD™ for each file instead of a single combined one.
Sending the RPD™
Select Send. Successful message will provide you the resulting RPD and, if selected, recipients will also receive the document via email.
